Advanced Issues in SBA Lending

You’ve mastered the basics of SBA lending, now take your knowledge to the next level.  Join Jane Butler, NAGGL EVP and a 30 year SBA veteran, for an interactive discussion on the issues that confound even the most experienced SBA lenders.  Enjoy the unique opportunity to make the dialogue specific to your needs by submitting questions in advance which will allow Jane to target the presentation to the processing, closing, servicing, liquidation and guaranty purchase issues of most interest to the group.

Possible topics include:  meeting SBA’s equity injection expectations – when and how much to require; avoiding loan closing pitfalls that can cost you some or all of your SBA guaranty;  meeting SBA’s expectations regarding loan servicing and liquidation; deciding when forbearance is appropriate, and what tools are available to you to help borrowers that are experiencing temporary setbacks; knowing what actions require SBA involvement, and which you can and must take on your own; and, submitting guaranty purchase packages that will result in full payment of the SBA guaranty.

Other presenters will include:
  • Bill Beardsley, President, Michigan Business Connection, LC
  • Eric Hanna, Capital Markets Development Associate, Michigan Economic Development Corporation
  • Richard King, Director, Region 9, Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center
